Hockey Biofeedback is a technique used to collect live brain and body data, to be used to allow players to voluntarily manipulate physiological processes of brain and body systems, to enhance optimal performance and training in hockey players. These include Alpha, Beta and Theta brainwaves, muscle tone, heart rate, skin conductance, and respiration.  Hockey players are well aware of how stress and pressure can hijack the brain resulting in poor execution, cognitive function (decision making and hockey sense), a loss of emotional control, and inadequate recovery  It can be very difficult to remain in "the zone" of optimal mental and physical performance with the external pressures of screaming fans and media attention, and the internal noise of negative self talk, memories of past failures, and anxiety about the opposing team.  This ability to tune out internal and external environment distractions during training and competition is known as playing with a "quiet mind" or "playing unconscious" or in "the zone".  During competition or training, we have all felt ourselves in the zone ,where everything seems to be just happening, effortless, unconsciously.  This flow is all systems working perfectly together to perform optimal execution of given skills or tactics.   THT Hockey teaches players to voluntarily find the zone, stay in the zone, and play unconsciously every shift.
